Sensory play, is play done by engaging with your five senses (smell, taste, feel/touch, sight, hear) which can be accomplished through a variety of means. The type of sense used most commonly to play is our sense of feel. This is embraced most easily due to the simplistic nature of the play (setting up a sand pit and allowing students to engage with it). However, the other senses should be embraced within the classroom, as they all provide their own unique characteristics to assist students in thoughtful learning.
